HOLDEN – In the wake of the tragic death of Maine State Police Detective Benjamin Campbell, some local businesses have been giving back to law enforcement.
G & M Family Market and Amato’s, located inside the market, gave away a free small sandwich, drink and bag of chips for first responders from any law enforcement agency. The offer ended Sunday evening.
Workers at the Holden business said they had quite a few officers come through and were happy to help.
“When I heard the story it was a very touching story and, you know, to be able to do something to help when so many people are going through a tough time, it’s just important to be part of the community in that way,” said Assistant manager Anthony Lazzara.
G & M Family Market also delivered lunch to a couple of area police departments on Thursday of last week.
