KENNEBUNK – A portion of the Maine Turnpike was shut down early Monday morning after a tractor-trailer truck caught fire.
A state police spokesman said the fire happened around 1 a.m. at mile 26 in Kennebunk.
Authorities said the truck was loaded with Coca-Cola products and headed to Bangor when the driver, a Virginia resident, noticed the vehicle was on fire. Officials said the driver was not injured.
The trailer, owned by Falcon Transportation of Presque Isle, and the load of soda were both destroyed in the blaze.
