CARIBOU – A Caribou man will be spending three years in federal prison for failing to register as a sex offender in the state of Maine.
Stephen Olivo, 59, was convicted of felony aggravated sexual assault in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, where he also resides, according to federal court records.
That conviction required him to register as a sex offender for life.
About four years ago, Olivo lived and worked in Aroostook County but failed to inform the sex offender registry he had left New Hampshire or relocated to Maine, according to authorities.
Officials said Olivo was arrested in September of 2018 and pleaded guilty in November of that year.
