BELFAST – Some employees of Athena Health will be losing their jobs.
On Tuesday afternoon, officials with Athena declined to disclose the exact number of jobs that will be affected.
According to a company statement, the business is in the midst of a reorganization as it merges with Virence Health.
The website healthcareitnews.com stated that merger was finalized in February as a $5.7 billion deal.
Athena is a 22-year-old medical records business based in Watertown, Massachusetts. The company employs nearly six thousand people.
At its peak operating level, Athena’s Belfast campus employed more than 900 workers.
