BUCKSPORT – The Bucksport community came together Thursday night to honor a two-year-old girl.
Family and friends of Kloe Hawksley, who was found dead in her Bucksport home in 2017, gathered at Bucksport’s waterfront for a vigil.
Thursday would have been Kloe’s fourth birthday.
Those who attended the vigil planned to light candles and release flower petals into the river nearby to remember Kloe.
The vigil was planned by those who know Kloe’s father.
“Well I have two young kids so I can’t really ever imagine having anything like this ever happen to me and Tyler’s a really good friend,” said Sam Murray. “So just trying to be there in support of Tyler and his family.”
Vigil organizers are collecting donations for Kloe’s grave site through the Justice for Kloe Hawksley Facebook page.
The court case regarding the girl’s death is ongoing. The former girlfriend of Kloe’s father is charged with murder in connection with the homicide case, and appeared in court in April.
