HERMON – The gloomy weather might not make most people dream of ice cream but for those who are ready for summer, the Maine Scoop just opened in Hermon.
Serving up delicious Gifford’s ice cream, the shop started welcoming people on Saturday.
Owner Scott cray said being family owned makes them unlike many others.
“My wife and I came to Hermon about three years ago. It’s a fast and upcoming town. We’ve been trying to do something we could do to be part of the community, get to know people and support it. I got to talking to a few people and they’re always talking about how we need an ice cream place.”
At the end of the month, the Maine Scoop will be opening up a drive through.
The shop is open from noon to 8 p.m. daily.
