ELLSWORTH – The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce was getting down to business Thursday evening with their annual awards night.
Close to 400 people gathered in a tent on NAPA Auto Parts’s parking lot in Ellsworth.
NAPA won the biggest honor of the night, the “Top Drawer Award”, that recognizes a business that gives back to the community.
Chamber staff said Ellsworth is one of the largest growing small cities in Maine.
Gretchen Wilson, the executive director of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce said she thinks that’s, “because so many people like the school system being in an area that’s close to Acadia National Park. It’s been affordable, and there are jobs here.”
Other awards of the night included the New Business of the Year, which went to Crossfit Breakwater.
The Revitalization Award was given to Josie’s Country Store and Cafe.
And the Customer Service Award went to Shirley’s Yarns and Gifts.
