BANGOR – A man accused of sparking an armed police standoff in Bangor appeared before a judge today.
27 year old Nicholas Condon of Portland is facing a number of charges including kidnapping and criminal threatening. Police say he was armed with a shotgun last month when he went to the Union Street home where his ex-fiance was living with her new boyfriend.
He fired a couple of shots in the home, but eventually let his captives go and surrendered. Police say Condon was also charged with possession of sexually explicit material after they found child porn on his telephone and home computer.
He’s now being held on $100 thousand dollars cash bail. The judge also ordered Condon to undergo a psychological evaluation to see if he’s fit for trial.
