WATERVILLE – A Waterville woman has begun serving seven years in prison following a stabbing that nearly killed a woman.
23 year old Carissa Butkewicz was ordered to serve 7 years of a 15 year sentence after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors. Authorities say Butkewicz and Tiffany Glidden had arranged to meet the victim in china as part of a drug deal.
That’s when the victim was stabbed in the stomach while sitting in a car.
Butkewicz was originally charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder, but those charges were dropped as part of the plea deal in which she plead guilty to the lesser charged of elevated aggravated assault. Glidden has pleaded not guilty to her roll in the stabbing.
