BAR HARBOR – The criterion opened in 1932 but was closed last year due to a number of issues including high levels of mold. Now operated by the Bar Harbor Jazz Festival, the theater has undergone extensive restorations including mold remediation, updated bathrooms, new seats, and a digital projector.
The theatre will host a variety of live shows, newly-released movies and children’s programming put on by “The Barn Arts Collective of Bass Harbor.”
Executive director Eli Mullen tells us they plan to serve beer, wine, panninis, wraps and burritos on top of the traditional movie viewing staples.
The theater is slated to open May first, for more on up coming events visit criteriontheatre.org
