BANGOR – Have an old television or other electronic device collecting dust in your home? Coming up this weekend, you’ll have an easy chance to dispose of it.
On Saturday, the challenger learning center will be holding its spring e-waste recycling event. From 9 a-m to 1 p-m, residents from any community are welcome to drop off their old electronics at the Bangor location. The service is free, but people are asked to make a cash donation to the center.
“The people that are collecting the recyclables, we don’t make any benefit from what you bring, they do. They take care of all of it, recycle it, take out the precious metals and things and then properly dispose of it. But we benefit from the cash donations that people make to us.” Susan Jonason
For the first time, businesses have the opportunity to drop off items from 9-to-5 on Friday.
Items you may recycle include; televisions, monitors, printers, laptops, game systems, digital picture frames, copier, answering machines, and more. For more information contact 990-2900 ext. 4
