HAMPDEN – The leftover snow from the long winter has yet to catch up with the warm spring weather, and some Marinas are taking a hit.
Hamlin Marina in Hampden advertises the sale of fuel, marine supplies, and ice, but ice isn’t something anyone at the marina will need any time soon
We’ve definitely seen a delay in the requests for people to get their boats out of storage. No one’s in any great rush. Normally this time of year we have a significant amount already rolling, but that hasn’t quite happened yet.
Reid Garrity is hoping that the marina will reopen in the next few weeks with the recent warmer weather, but he believes the fate of the opening needs to come from a great force
Mother nature needs to help us out a little bit faster. It sure goes away quick with the warm weather and rain. In the meantime, the marina has been keeping busy at boat shows and assisting new customers getting ready for the season.
