ORONO – Students from the University of of Maine’s seven campuses convened in Orono this weekend to find ways to increase student engagement.
84 student government leaders came to Orono looking to stimulate college life on their respective UMaine campuses.
University officials say making college feel more like a massive community, not solely a collection of individuals is paramount
To do that, students went through seminars on resume building, networking and how to make the most of your non-classroom time
Promoting transparency with professors and other leaders, was a major theme of the weekend’s talks, another was establishing when the student leadership process begins for incoming attendees
And avoid the proverbial label of being just a number among thousands on campuses. In Orono, I’m Patrick Thomas, for ABC 7 and Fox 22.
