WISCASSET – A search for an Edgecomb woman came to a tragic end today when her body was discovered in the Sheepscot River. The body of Lynn Crink was discovered in the river at approximately 1:50pm on Monday by a couple walking their dog along Water Street in Wiscasset just north of the Donald Davey Bridge.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded and recovered the deceased from the water. This location is approximately 5.3 miles north of the Crink residence.
Mrs. Crink was last seen Friday afternoon at her residence by her husband when she told him she was “going for a walk.” Extensive ground, water and air searches were conducted by the Maine Marine Patrol, Maine Wardens Service, Maine State Police, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Lincoln County Search and Rescue.
The body of the deceased is being transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta for autopsy and to determine cause of death. Investigators do not suspect foul play in this matter.
