BANGOR – It’s that time of year, women and volunteers are invited to help revitalize the West Side Village of Bangor.
The Habitat for Humanity and Lowe’s are teaming up for its eighth annual National Women Build Week. It’s challenging women to devote at least one day to help fix-up local homes. Ages 16 and up are invited to participate.
Bangor Lowe’s employees will also be there to volunteer.
Habitat for Humanity Executive Director, Lynn Hempen, says its a way to help families in need. “We’re hoping volunteers will come out on the second, clean up this lot, which is where we’re going to build. Which is in some dire need of some help and then we’re going to dispatch volunteers around the neighborhood to paint porch steps, paint porches, do some curb appeal, fixing up.”
Again, volunteers will meet at 120 Third Street, on May 2nd until the 10th, from 10 am to 4 p.m.
An application must be filled out at habitat.org.
