BRADFORD – Officials say the may never know what caused a fire that destroyed a Bradford sawmill this week.
The fire marshal’s office says the damage to the Storer Road Mill was so severe that a cause may never be determined. Workers at the mill attempted to put the fire out with an extinguisher, but the wind picked up and the fire got away from them.
The sawmill operator had been cutting grade stakes about an hour before the fire started, according to Bradford Fire Chief Dusty Kelley.
The fire is not considered suspicious.
