HOLDEN – Spring has sprung, its making for perfect conditions for nature time for children.
The Fields Pond Audubon Center is kicking off their spring session, which caters to Pre-schoolers. The program aims to get the little ones outside and to teach them about nature.
This years session will focus on frogs, birds, plants, and other mammals.
“Oh my gosh, it’s huge to get children outside. So we start them at a very young age here, preschool age. We want to start them young, we have the babies come out too with the siblings. It’s fantastic. To get engaged with the critters and creatures that are out here immediately, because they get fascinated by anything. You can bring them out in the sun and just feel the wind and it’s ahhhhhh it’s amazing. “Holly Twining, Naturalist and Communications Coordinator, Field Ponds Audubon Center, Holden
Another month-long session will be held this summer, and single-day sessions will be held in June. For more information, visit maineaudubon.org.
