ATHENS – A man from Athens was killed this morning following an early morning crash.
The Somerset County Sheriff’s Department says 39 year old Chad Flanders was traveling on Route 43 around 1:00 this morning when he lost control.
The pickup truck left the roadway and rolled over, landing on its roof.
Officials say Flanders wasn’t wearing a seat belt and he was partially ejected from the vehicle.
Police say at the time of the crash, Flanders right to drive had been suspended.
Deputies say excessive speed and the use of alcohol are factors they’re considering in the investigation.
They also say Flanders had just purchased the 1983 pickup yesterday.
