AUGUSTA – A bill that will help educate parents about vaccinations has been approved by the Legislatures Health Committee.
It voted in favor of the bill that would require parents to consult a doctor before they can be exempted from state required vaccine requirements.
Parents would still be able to not have their children vaccinated, but only after a doctor signs off on the decision. The measure is meant to clear up misinformation some parents have received, leading to safety concerns.
It will now head to the full legislature for consideration.
