BANGOR – Bangor’s Empire Beauty School spent the day pampering some important fighters and survivors.
Tuesday was the school’s annual “Cancer Beauty and Support Day.” Stylists at Empire have been hosting the event since 2010 – allowing cancer patients and survivors their choice of a free service.
A similar event is held for first responders – but organizers say this is even more rewarding.
“It can really boost the self esteem for someone that maybe doesn’t have any hair, if they wanted a manicure and they just wanted to have their nails nice.” Olivia Moody Customer Service Coordinator.
Patients and survivors got the chance to pick from services such as haircuts, perms, manicures, and scalp treatments.
