STATEWIDE – The petition drive is off and running and the group says it believes the timing is right and it’s looking for a little over 61-thousand so it can go to voters.
“We are confident we have support in the State. Two years ago Portland voted overwhelmingly to make marijuana legal. We know we’ll get our signatures. The majority of Mainers support this.” David Boyer, Campaign Director
The group needs to collect enough signatures by January in order to get the issue on the November 2016 ballot.
There’s another petition drive in Maine in support of a separate marijuana legalization question.
