BANGOR — A local church hosted their monthly open air chimes concert and food collection on Sunday.
Because it’ was the second Sunday of the month, members of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Bangor had their food collection bins ready to be filled with donations from the public to help the food insecure by filling local area food pantries.
“The food pantries are just pushing the food out just as fast as they get it in, and the need is still huge. So any time anybody thinks of a way they can help, this is a great way to help,” said Tim Martin, a member of the Bangor church.
All proceeds from the food collection went straight to Bangor Ecumenical Food Pantry.
