PUERTO RICO – A Bangor couple was in Puerto Rico for their honeymoon when an earthquake shook the island.
On Tuesday, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake killed at least one person and caused an island-wide power outage.
Aaron Lefebvre said he and his wife, Maraina, are okay and on the part of the island that suffered the least amount of damage, but that it was still a terrifying moment when the quake came at 4 AM.
“The power went out and the whole building started shaking back and forth so it was unsettling…I‘ve been waking up about the same time each morning since it happened,” said Lefebvre.
He said he’s been through an earthquake before but nothing like that.
