BANGOR – Staff members at Bangor Federal Credit Union are helping to keep people warm this winter.
They purchased hats, mittens, coats, snow pants and many other necessities and on Tuesday donated all of it to Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine and the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter.
“We really believe in supporting our area and any organization that needs it. We definitely want to be there for them,” said Tina Morrill, the credit union’s marketing director.
Boyd Kronholm, the shelter’s executive director, said the cold weather comforts are appreciated.
“These donations that come in are our lifeline. We don’t have money to spend on such things,” he said.
This was the second time credit union employees have purchased and donated winter items.
Morrill said they are already busy planning for next year.
