BANGOR – Bangor firefighters rescued two people who found themselves stranded near the Kenduskeag Stream Thursday evening.
It happened just after 7:30 p.m. behind the jail near Franklin Street in Bangor.
We’re told when Bangor firefighters arrived, they found two people on some ice to the side of the stream.
“They had dropped something and they went to go retrieve it. Once they went to retrieve it, they realized they couldn’t get back out,” said Bangor Asst. Fire Chief Philip Hamm. “Somebody happened to walk by, saw them and called 911.
Hamm said they were extremely lucky that somebody saw them because that area isn’t well lit at night.
Both people were a little wet and cold but no serious injuries were reported.
