BANGOR – A live and silent auction was held Saturday afternoon to benefit Bangor High School Project Graduation 2020.
Project Graduation is a safe and fun event for students held from 8 pm to around 6 am after graduation.
There are a close to 350 seniors graduating this year.
According to a co-chair of the project, this is one of the largest classes to come through.
Some of the items auctioned off included sports events tickets, gift certificates, and even a signed baseball from the Boston Red Sox.
“Project Grad was initially set up to give the students an option besides partying and to help to avoid kids getting killed in car accidents. So it’s to keep our students safe on graduation night,” said Michelle Conway, a co-chair of Project Graduation 2020.
This is one of their biggest fundraising events.
Conway said parents of seniors or local businesses can donate to the project by writing a check.
