BANGOR – Medical professionals at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center are giving out food in their Neighbors Feeding Neighbors Thanksgiving food drive.
According to Chris Shaw, the hospital’s director of Clinical Operations, staff members have brought in 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food items since late October.
“If staff run into a family member or a family of a patient that they feel would benefit from this food, they’re grabbing a bag and giving it to them. We’re able to directly able to help the patients that are coming to see us on a daily basis,” Shaw said.
Shaw said the remaining food items will be donated to the Good Shepherd Food Bank.
