BANGOR – There is still snow on the ground but it’s time to start thinking about gardening this summer.
That’s according to the Bangor Public Library and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, which are hosting an education program to teach people the best practices for starting vegetable and ornamental seedlings.
The free hands-on training is from 2-4 p.m. Saturday in the library’s board room for those who want to learn how to start seeds indoors.
The event is sponsored by the library’s seed swap program.
Participants will sow the seeds and take them home afterward for their own gardens.
