MEDWAY – A local man was arrested after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase on Friday.
Perry Newell, 29, of Bangor was wanted for questioning in connection with two incidents in Bangor. He fled Bangor on Dec. 26 in a maroon Chevy sedan.
The next day He was spotted at an Irving station in Medway and led police on a high-speed chase that reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
Police called off the chase due to icy conditions, later finding the car in a median.
A separate search led police to Plea Ridge Road in Chester. That search was called off due to safety concerns as they say they believed Newell was armed.
He was found following an incident on Saturday and is now being held at Penobscot County Jail.
