BANGOR – Bangor police arrested a man they say was involved in a high speed chase through the city earlier this week.
Brian Saunders, 37, of Bangor was arrested Thursday afternoon following an investigation by Bangor police and Maine drug agents.
Police say Saunders drove by an officer at an “extremely high” rate of speed Tuesday night around 9:45.
Authorities say Saunders then led police on a chase through downtown and behind the waterfront area.
At one point, police say Saunders almost struck another police cruiser.
He managed to evade police until Thursday, when authorities determined he was at a Bangor residence and arrested him.
Police say Saunders also has active federal arrest warrants.
