BANGOR- The Bangor School Committee held their final hearing on the proposed school budget for next year.
The overall total of it is $49.8 million.
It includes room for the district to hire new special education personnel, an additional school resource officers, and more math and literacy coaches.
She said salaries have created the biggest changes in the budget.
“We worked really hard to keep the local impact as low as possible,” said superintendent, Dr. Betsy Webb. “The local impact is .87, so less than 1%”
On April 15th, city councilors and school committee members will have a meeting to discuss the budget.
Last year, residents voted to not vote on the budget this year, leaving the final decision in the hands of city councilors.
Webb also reminds people using the meal delivery program that they will not be handing out meals Friday, due to the pending snow.
Those picking up meals will be able to pick them up for Friday and the weekend Thursday morning.
