BELFAST – The city of Belfast has received several grants.
Economic Development Director Thomas Kittredge said city officials want to add more jobs to the area.
With one of the grants, Front Street Shipyard will be able to hire up to 20 more people.
Kittredge says the town also is going to add more electric vehicle charging stations. As it stands, two chargers can be found in the city.
“We want to be electric vehicle-friendly and attract people that may have those vehicles and part of that is having that type of infrastructure so our plan is for four Level 2 two chargers at our parking lot at the corner of Pierce Street and Front Street,” Kittredge said.
Kittredge said people can stop and charge their car while they walk around the city or the harbor walk.
He said he hopes to see some of these changes by the end of the year.
