BINGHAM – A Bingham teenager is recovering from a severe head injury after police say she crashed her ATV Wednesday.
According to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, it happened Wednesday night around 8:00 on Baker Street in Bingham.
Witnesses told police they saw 19-year-old Meagan Wade operating the ATV “erratically.”
Police say Wade was ejected from the vehicle after losing control.
She was not wearing a helmet.
Sheriff’s deputies say Wade was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where she remains as she recovers from her injuries.
Authorities say operating in an unsafe manner and speed are factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
