BANGOR – Bangor police are searching for a person they say robbed a Bangor bank Thursday afternoon.
Bangor Police Spokesman Sgt. Wade Betters says around 2:25 Thursday afternoon, officers responded to the Bangor Savings Bank on Hogan Road after receiving a report it had been robbed.
Police say a threat was reportedly made and the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police believe the suspect left the area in an unknown vehicle.
We’re told nobody was hurt during the robbery. The branch was closed as police investigated the scene.
“One of the first things that we did was create a perimeter around some of the local businesses here with some of the patrol officers, and we also utilized a police tracking dog that we have working with us today,” Sgt. Betters said Thursday afternoon. “The dog and its handler tracked around the location, but we were unable to locate the suspect.”
Authorities released surveillance pictures of the suspect, who can be seen wearing a camouflage baseball cap and a dark, short-sleeved shirt.
Another picture shows several tattoos on both of the person’s arms.
