BANGOR – A Hampden man was sentenced Tuesday to a 43-year prison sentence for the July 2018 shooting death of his sister-in-law, Renee Clark.
Philip Clark, 56, was found guilty of the murder after a seven-day trial in November.
The prosecution described the shooting as an execution and said the accused was tormented by minor events.
Both the prosecution and the defense agreed that Clark shot his sister-in-law, but his defense team argued that he should not be held accountable because he had a temporary abnormal condition of the mind.
Renee Clark, 49, was shot 10 times and that required Philip Clark to reload his 9 mm handgun.
