BUCKSPORT – An art project in the making — now coming to life. Main Street Bucksport is expanding the town’s art scene.
Town officials are accepting applications from artists to create four large-scale murals on the side of local businesses.
The Executive Director for Main Street Bucksport said this project originally launched a few years ago to line up with the town’s art festival.
That has since been canceled because of COVID-19, but the murals are still a go.
“It’s sort of a perfect project in many ways for this moment. We applied for this grant before we had ever heard of the coronavirus but now here we are,” said Brook Minner, the executive director for Main Street Bucksport.
“I think that people need something to feel good about. Something to cheer them up and I think seeing the murals come to life will be a feel food project for the community,” she said.
Minner said information to apply can be found on their website.
