STATEWIDE – Live + Work in Maine is kicking off its second annual “Boomerang” campaign.
The goal is to attract people who are visiting Maine for Thanksgiving to live here and work here full time.
The group behind the campaign is working with more than 70 different venues across the state — from breweries to coffee shops — to spread the word.
With more job offerings in Maine than qualified people to fill them, organizers said they want people to know there’s no better time to boomerang back.
”We want them to know that we want them here in the state,” said Katie Shorey of Live + Work in Maine.”Letting them know that there are many jobs here in Maine and we want them here as well.”
Live + Work in Maine also works with universities and employers across the state to push people to stay in the state.
Group members said their goal is to recruit 75,000 people over the next 20 years.
