BANGOR – The Bangor-based Chinese school community has led an effort to have family members in China donate safety gear for Maine healthcare workers.
So far, approximately 6,000 surgical masks, as well as alcohol wraps and gloves, have been donated, according to a statement from the school’s principal.
Half of the supplies have already arrived and been distributed to hospitals in Bangor as well as local first responders.
The principal said the donations came from eight donors who live in seven cities in China.
She says the Chinese school team plans to continue seeking donations for personal protection equipment.
