BANGOR – A church that became a floral business is now back to its roots.
The Mansion Church Congregation has moved seven times since it began in 2009.
Pastor Terry Dinkins says they have always had to rent or use places others let them borrow.
The Mansion Church has now purchased the building at 96 Center Street that began as a church before becoming the former home of Bangor Floral.
“I think sometimes folks feel they may be judged if they don’t have the right clothes or they have some tattoos or some spikes or whatever but we are here not to judge. We are here to welcome them,” said Pastor Dinkins.
The church has services at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sundays and a meal is served after each service.
The pastor says they have a shower for the homeless to use and a washer and dryer so they can do their laundry.
Pastor Dinkins says in addition to the bible study classes they already have, they plan to offer a faith-based recovery group at the beginning of the year.
