OLD TOWN – Downtown Old Town is getting a brand new nightlife destination.
Located at 283 Main St., concert promoter and owner Alex Gray said this three-story hot spot will be an upscale restaurant and bar, music venue and nightclub.
“The fit and finish of this property and some of the amenities are really second to none in a sense,” Gray said. “I think once we do this there will be a number of people that move in the same direction.”
The first floor will be an open concept restaurant with food and specialty cocktails. What is now graffiti of a king will soon be exposed brick from the original building.
You can dance your way upstairs to the nightclub for live performances. At the very top will be the rooftop patio.
“Whether you’re into the Maine beer scene or the Maine spirit scene. If you’re into the Maine food scene, if you’re into the Maine entertainment scene, I think we’re going to have just a number of opportunities,” Gray said.
“From hard ticketed paid events to soft ticketed opportunities for young musicians to showcase themselves maybe on the patio on a singer songwriter night,” he said.
Old Town is an important place to Gray. He said it was an obvious choice for him to help bring this area back to life.
“I grew up here, my family still resides here, so it was an opportunity to invest in the community and do something that I think is really cool for Old Town,” Gray said.
Gray said they have yet to think of a name for the venue. The open date is still unknown but he said there is a lot to look forward to.
“We’re very excited.”
