AUGUSTA – Maine reported its first COVID-19 case on March 12. Now, exactly four months later, the Maine CDC says there have been a total of 3,539 cases statewide, both confirmed and probable.
A CDC spokesman said this weekend, three more people died with COVID-19. The victims are a woman in her 90s from Penobscot County, and two Cumberland County residents, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 80s. Their deaths were reported July 11 and 12, according to a CDC spokesman.
The death toll from COVID-19 in Maine now stands at 114.
Close to 3,000 Mainers have recovered from the illness.
