BANGOR – Bangor city officials have come out with a new conceptual draft for what Pickering Square could look like.
Last week, city councilors took a first look at a new conceptual design, that would include a seating area and bathrooms near the city’s bus hub.
City councilor Laura Supica said the council is still debating whether to keep the city’s bus hub in Pickering or move it, and said she’s excited about the design ideas so far.
“And I feel like they’ve – the staff has really incorporated all the different needs and wishes of everybody in the community really well,” said Supica.
According to Bangor’s engineering office, the city got a grant of more than one million dollars to go to the city’s transit system, that will be used to fund Pickering Square’s renovations.
The concept plans will be worked on further at an upcoming public meeting.
