BANGOR – Bangor voters can cast their ballots early at the Cross Insurance Center from now until October 30.
The city clerk’s office moved to the Cross Center Tuesday.
Normally, early in-person voting is held the week before the election, but this year it’ll be available for about three weeks.
City officials say the move allows them to follow social distancing guidelines, especially with the high voter turnout expected.
“We’re giving people more opportunity to get out here and vote absentee in-person if they want to, rather than coming on Election Day and have to wait in lines,” said Bangor City Clerk Lisa Goodwin. “Just because of COVID, we want to make sure that everybody has an opportunity to get out when they feel safe to do that.”
Goodwin said they had a steady flow of voters Tuesday.
If you live in Bangor and want to vote early in-person, head to the Cross Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., from now until 5 p.m. on Friday, October 30.
Regular services such as business or marriage licenses, birth certificates, and voter registration will also be conducted from the Cross Center.
