ELLSWORTH – A group in Ellsworth needs some help to make Christmas magic for kids in Hancock and Washington counties.
Downeast Community Partners gives gifts to hundreds of children in both counties.
This year some of the donors were not able to give as many toys as they have in the past.
To help make up for the shortage they are holding a Christmas Magic Fill a Bus toy drive on Black Friday.
They said it is often the older children who are left out.
“What we would collect for the older children would be makeup kits for the girls or tool kits for the boys or any fishing and hunting stuff, balls. Anything like that,” said toy drive organizer Sarah Hardison.
Dolls, cars, games, learning toys and crafts for younger children are also needed.
The toy drive runs from 7 a.m. until noon in the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce parking lot at 163 High St.
Anyone who can’t make it Friday but would like to donate can do so through an Amazon wish list on their website at downeastcommunitypartners.org. Call 664-2424 for more information.
