BANGOR — Local business owners, go-getters and entrepreneurs looking to grow their aspirations during the pandemic don’t have to look any further than their own computers.
On Sept. 24, a conference for Bangor area entrepreneurs is coming to the region virtually.
The conference is this year’s iteration of the third annual Blitz Bangor event, which is derived from the small business success boot camp geared toward small business owners and entrepreneurs, according to Blitz Co-Founder Leslie Poake.
“Blitz grew out of that to kind of address the bigger entrepreneurship efforts here in the Bangor area to include both tech entrepreneurs, more scalable companies as well as the main street businesses,” Poake said.
In July, there was a virtual Blitz conference to provide critical information and business connections during the pandemic.
But Poake said the Sept. 24 conference is for what she calls the next step.
“So it’s kind of like here we are, we’ve all survived COVID, what do we need to do now. So the topics are the next generation from that July conference,” she said.
Because of the pandemic, she adds the event is free and open to the public.
“We would like to attract people of all different types of businesses to come here and open their business, so that’s our ultimate goal. Where we are now to getting getting to that is basically connecting people, getting them the information, educating entrepreneurs, connecting them with each-other and resources,” she said.
