TROY – The man who died in a house fire Wednesday afternoon has been identified as 42-year-old James Mohr, according to Sgt. Joel Davis of the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Firefighters were called to North Dixmont Road for a fire a Mohr’s mobile home around 4:30 p.m., an investigator with the state fire marshal’s office said.
While firefighters were able to put out the fire relatively quickly, resulting in little damage to the home, Mohr was inside at the time and had to be pulled from the home.
Efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Davis said that Mohr was home alone at the time and that there reportedly was a dog in the residence with him.
A handful of surrounding fire departments provided assistance.
The fire marshal’s office continues to work to determine a cause.
