BANGOR – February is Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Awareness Month.
According to a Partners for Peace representative, those aged 16 to 24 experience the highest rates of abuse.
Throughout the month, they are doing presentations and outreach to those in that age group.
They said last year, the organization connected with more than 3,000 people in Penobscot and Piscataquis counties to talk about the issue.
“We are talking to young people about relationships, healthy relationships and what exactly that looks like and who to connect with if you are affected by dating abuse,” said Casey Faulkingham, a community response team leader at Partners for Peace.
