GREENBUSH – Firefighters believe they know what caused a fire that destroyed a home on Spring Bridge Road Thursday afternoon.
Firefighting crews from around the area were sent to a home that was fully on fire around 2 p.m. and when they arrived, there was not much they could do.
“We’ve talked to the homeowner. We believe the fire was started by a combustibles too close to a heating implement, and that’s just one that this time of year, we warn people try to keep at least three feet of clearance around all of your heating implements to prevent something like this from happening.” Greenbush fire Capt. Jim McCrum said at the scene.
The homeowner was not insured. He said he will be staying with relatives in the area for the time being.
