BANGOR — Eastern Maine Community College held its second annual Fill the Van food drive to make sure students don’t go hungry this holiday season.
The event was created by EMCC’s Trio Student Services and helps feed students so they can focus on their studies.
“We put the word out across campus. We’ve been very fortunate. A lot of community members have already stopped by and donated a lot of items,” Trio Advisor Tasia Lima said Monday.
“We are really really excited to see so many folks out in the rain today coming by to help us build up our stocks,” she said.
Lima said they are in need of non-perishable food items as well as personal hygiene products, baby necessities, and pet food.
