BANGOR – A former Brewer man has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to possessing images of child sexual exploitation.
Joseph Messier, 55, possessed images of children engaging in sexually explicit conduct that he purposefully sought out and received through the internet sometime between January and March of last year, according to court records.
The children were under the age of 12.
Messier faces 10 to 20 years in prison because of a prior sex offense conviction. He also faces a fine of up to $250,000 and from five years to a lifetime of supervised release.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
